FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an olefin synthesis plant comprising raw material pretreatment section; one or more furnaces, at that, at least one or more furnaces is made with possibility of its electrification, and wherein each electrified furnace further includes a pyrolysis section comprising one or more pyrolysis reactors; section of primary fractionation and compression; and a product separation section, wherein each electrified furnace is made so that at least 90% of all heat in each electrified furnace is obtained without combustion of fuel, carbon fuel, fossil fuel or their combination, and wherein the olefin synthesis unit is configured to consume 10 MW of electrical energy or more.
EFFECT: reduced use of fuels, especially fossil fuels, burnt for energy production, increased energy efficiency and/or reduced emissions, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, produced by a chemical synthesis plant.
