SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry equipment, namely to units for separation of products of oil wells into oil and water. Method of regulating operation of a well for preliminary water discharge comprises feeding crude oil with oil gas via pipe insert into well plugged with packer. Amount is measured and discharged water is discharged through the inner string, as well as partially dehydrated oil and oil gas from the annular space of the well and the amount of discharge of discharged water, dehydrated oil and oil gas is controlled. Wherein amount of discharged water, dehydrated oil and oil gas is controlled by changing the number of revolutions of the submersible pump pumping water through the inner string to ensure height of the discharged water column in the well within the pre-set range and to prevent ingress of oil into the inner string.

EFFECT: reduction of labour intensity of the process of control of operation of the well of preliminary water discharge at increase of efficiency of fluid dehydration.
