METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF THALAMIC NEOPLASM IN HUMAN Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/107 A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2827362 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology and oncology, and can be used to predict the development of thalamic neoplasm. Patient’s clinical history data is collected to detect 5 factors in the anamnesis: presence of intracranial hypertension; presence of complaints indicating a malfunction of the central nervous system for 6 months or more (headaches, unsteadiness when walking, cognitive impairment, emotional lability and others); fact of genetically determined brain diseases in direct blood relatives; staying in the zone of high radioactive emission; work with harmful working conditions. Patient undergoes magnetic resonance imaging of the thalamus to determine its 6 linear dimensions in the right and left hemispheres: transverse, longitudinal and vertical, then the measured parameters are compared with standard values of thalamus parameters. If the clinical-anamnestic study confirms one factor or more and the mismatch of two or more linear dimensions of the thalamus, the development of its neoplasm is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables early prediction of thalamus neoplasm with accurate localization by determining its six linear dimensions.
