METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF NEOPLASM IN TEMPORAL LOBE OF HUMAN BRAIN Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2831714 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used to predict the development of a neoplasm in the temporal lobe of the brain. Anamnesis is collected and a history of five factors is determined: the presence of intracranial hypertension, the presence of complaints indicating a malfunction of the central nervous system for 6 months or more, fact of genetically determined brain diseases in direct blood relatives, staying in the zone of high radioactive radiation, work in hazardous working conditions. Brain magnetic resonance imaging is performed. Determining the width and thickness of the cerebral cortex in the middle temporal gyrus in three points in each hemisphere: in point 1, located on the border with the angular gyrus; at point 2 located at the beginning of the upper temporal sulcus; at point 3 located in the middle of the distance between point 1 and point 2. Obtained values of the width and thickness of the cerebral cortex in the middle temporal gyrus in three points are compared with the values of the width and thickness of the cerebral cortex in the middle temporal gyrus in three points from Table 1 contained in the description. If determining the presence in the past medical history of one or more factors out of five and the mismatch of two or more values of the width and thickness of the cerebral cortex in the middle temporal gyrus in three points with the values of the width and thickness of the cerebral cortex in the middle temporal gyrus in three points from Table 1, development of a new growth in the temporal lobe of this cerebral hemisphere is predicted in the investigated hemisphere.

EFFECT: method provides predicting the development of a new growth in the temporal lobe of the brain due to the declared prognostic factors.
