METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF CORPUS CALLOSUM IN HUMAN Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/107 A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2827367 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology and oncology, and can be used for prediction of corpus callosum neoplasm development. Patient’s clinical history data is collected to detect history of 5 factors: presence of intracranial hypertension; presence of complaints indicating a malfunction of the central nervous system for 6 months or more (headaches, unsteadiness when walking, cognitive disorders, emotional lability and others); fact of genetically determined brain diseases in direct blood relatives; staying in the zone of high radioactive emission; work with harmful working conditions. Patient undergoes magnetic resonance imaging of the corpus callosum to determine its 7 linear dimensions: height and length of corpus callosum, thickness of knee and cushion, anterior, upper, posterior depth of corpus callosum; then the measured parameters are compared with standard values of parameters of corpus callosum. If the clinical-anamnestic study confirms one and more factors and the mismatch of two or more linear dimensions of the corpus callosum, the development of its neoplasm is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables early prediction of corpus callosum neoplasm with accurate localization by determining its seven linear dimensions.
