FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to handrail and method of its manufacturing. Handrail manufacturing method involves providing a frame and applying a coating layer on the frame by compression molding, casting, dipping, painting and/or extrusion. Handrail is mounted on guide element of travolators and escalators. Handrail has almost constant cross-section along direction of its profile and comprises frame and cover layer. Frame can be located on the guide element. Coating layer is located on the frame and contains a thermoplastic elastomer. Frame contains a main layer, a tension element and an additional layer. Main layer faces the protective layer, is made of rubberized fabric, in particular vulcanised, and contains chloroprene rubber, natural rubber, butadiene-styrene rubber and/or polybutadiene rubber. Tensioning element passes in the direction of the handrail profile and is inserted between the main and additional layers.
EFFECT: higher durability and efficient operation.
