SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when producing a mineral additive for concrete. Method of producing activated kaolinite involves mixing initial raw material to obtain a raw mixture, drying the raw mixture in a drying section of a multi-sectional tunnel furnace. After drying, the crude mixture is transported to the decomposition section of the tunnel furnace, wherein the temperature in the decomposition section is 750±50 °C, and the residence time is 40–80 minutes. Then the material is transported to the recovery section of the tunnel furnace, tightly closed and water mist is sprayed, so that the high-temperature material is subjected to thermal stripping in a reducing atmosphere containing saturated steam. Material transported from reduction section is air-cooled to produce activated kaolinite. Crude mixture contains kaolinite tails, graphite tails and coal sludge. Content of kaolinite in kaolinite tails is ≥75 wt.%. Also disclosed is a material for concrete.
EFFECT: invention increases activity of activated kaolinite, improves its appearance, as well as increases flow coefficient of cement mortar containing said activated kaolinite.
