SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Described is a method for calculating the biological age of a subject, which includes the following steps: (a) extraction of DNA from a substrate obtained from a subject; (b) measuring DNA methylation in DNA extracted from a substrate to obtain a DNA methylation profile; (c) analysis of the DNA methylation profile from 13 human CG sites located in the putative antisense region of the ElovL2 gene, the ElovL2 AS1 region, as specified in SEQ ID NO: 1, to obtain a polygenic estimate based on the following equation for calculating biological age: biological age = (CG1*87.5643+CG2*6.3301+CG3*-0.8691+CG4*1.9468+CG5*40.0336+CG6*49.4303+CG7*-14.7868+CG8*22.9042+CG9*-49.7942+CG10*111.7467+CG11*41.8108+CG12*0.4144+CG13*-150.8005)-71.6872, using multiple linear regression equations or neural network analysis; and (d) determining the biological age of the subject based on the polygenic assessment, where DNA extraction includes extraction of genomic DNA from saliva obtained from the subject. Also described is a kit for determining the biological age of a subject for implementing said method, comprising means and reagents for collecting and stabilizing a substrate from the subject, barcode scanner in the kit and instructions for collecting and stabilizing the substrate, where the substrate is saliva of the subject and where the substrate stabilization is intended for mailing the collected substrate for DNA extraction to measure DNA methylation in the DNA extracted from the substrate to obtain a DNA methylation profile of the subject to determine the biological age of the subject.
EFFECT: invention extends the range of means for calculating the biological age of a subject.
