SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a mixture of monomers based on allantoin and glyoxalic acid for use in chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Said mixture is characterized by a degree of substitution of glyoxalic acid fragments on nitrogen and carbon atoms ranging from 1:1 to 1:5, and peaks with retention times of 1.40 min, 2.16 min, 2.66–4.27 min on the chromatogram, wherein the chromatographic peaks correspond to molecular ions with masses of 287, 303, 361, 463 Da.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain products based on allantoin and glyoxalic acid, having as a monomer link mono-N-, di-N- and three N-, as well as C-substituted allantoin containing a glyoxalic acid residue.
