SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol-generating devices. Aerosol-generating device comprises a casing comprising a receiver for the pull-out section, a pull-out section movably connected to the casing and configured to be placed in the said receiver for the pull-out section and a heating element. Extending section forms a receptacle for the cartridge for detachable arrangement of the cartridge containing the aerosol-forming substrate. Extending section is made with possibility of movement between open position and closed position in the first direction. Heating element is configured to heat the aerosol-generating substrate in the cartridge when the cartridge is placed in the receptacle for the cartridge and the pull-out section is in the closed position. Aerosol-generating device is configured to move at least one of the heating element and the cartridge arranged in the cartridge receptacle, in direction of change of location for approach of heating element and cartridge in response to movement of sliding section from open position to closed position, wherein said direction of change of location differs from said first direction.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of practical placement of a cartridge containing a hookah substrate for heating, and possibility of removing the cartridge to reduce the risk of burns while maintaining effective heating of the cartridge to ensure stable sensations from smoking.
