FIELD: aerosol production.

SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating element for generating an aerosol in a hookah device containing a receiver for placing an aerosol-forming substrate and a photonic device made with the ability to generate an IR beam, and the aerosol generating element is made with the ability to heat the aerosol-forming substrate by directing the IR beam onto the aerosol-forming substrate. The present invention additionally relates to a hookah device containing the said aerosol generating element, to an aerosol generating system containing the said hookah device and an aerosol generating product, and to a method for aerosol formation in a hookah device. The aerosol generating element according to the present invention provides an alternative heating system in which the substrate forming the aerosol is heated as a result of absorption of IR radiation.

EFFECT: heating with IR radiation provides the advantage of high speed, flexibility and efficiency of heating.
