SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing L-methionine, involving culturing a microorganism into which a protein encoded by a foreign metZ gene is introduced, in a medium containing thiosulphate. Also disclosed is a composition for producing L-methionine, containing a microorganism producing L-methionine, into which a protein encoded by a foreign metZ gene, and thiosulphate are introduced.
EFFECT: invention provides higher yield of methionine.
