FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to biotechnology and can be used in medicine. Disclosed is a novel calcium-sensitive receptor (CSR) agonist consisting of a short peptide conjugated via a disulphide bridge with L-Cys and containing an artificial amino acid D-Abu. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition containing said agonist of KCR, and its use for reducing the level of parathyroid hormone in plasma and calcium ions in human serum. Possibility of using the KCR agonist according to the present invention is also shown for treating metabolic diseases associated with abnormal levels of parathyroid hormones (for example, hyperparathyroidism, secondary hyperparathyroidism, tumour-induced hypercalcemia, and so forth).
EFFECT: compounds according to the present invention have less side effect of histamine release as compared to etelcalcetide or its known analogues.
