SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of encoding/decoding an image by performing internal prediction using filtering of reference samples and to a method of transmitting a bit stream. Disclosed is a method of decoding images, which includes: obtaining internal prediction mode information of the current block from the bit stream, determining the internal prediction mode of the current block based on the internal prediction mode information and the internal prediction mode of a neighbouring block located near the current block, extraction of the first filter flag value to use the filtering of the internal prediction reference sample of the current block based on the coding parameters for the current block, selecting an interpolation filter to be used for internal prediction of the current block based on the first filter flag, and generating an internal prediction block of the current block using the selected interpolation filter. Coding parameters comprise at least one of a multiple reference line index of the current block, a size of the current block, a colour component of the current block, whether internal subsegments (ISP) are to be applied to the current block, or an internal prediction mode of the current block.
