SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used to assess the probability of ischemic heart disease. Patient is examined for age and body weight index, measurement of nocturnal penile tumescences with subsequent determination of the relative increase in the diameter of the penis during sleep compared to the baseline value, duration of nocturnal penile tumescence with relative increase of penis diameter during sleep in comparison with base value of 20% and more. Derived values are used to determine the probability of the presence of IHD (p) by a given formula. If the p value is 0.5 and more, the risk of IHD is considered to be high.
EFFECT: method enables detecting the patients at high risk of ischemic heart disease by evaluating objective parameters of erectile function.
