SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for monitoring electrical installations. While the installation is in operation, the electric currents flowing through the installation are measured, and temperature values at specified locations in the installation, using the previously obtained numerical model, calculating a numerical index characterizing the thermal properties of the installation, by the differences between the measured temperature values and the corresponding temperature values calculated by said model from the measured current values, thermal anomaly is detected when the calculated numerical value differs from the reference value.

EFFECT: high accuracy of continuous detection of thermal anomaly during operation of an electrical installation.
