FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of the chemistry of high-molecular compounds. Method of carrying out a catalytic exothermic polymerization reaction of ethylene in a gas-liquid vertical cylindrical mixing reactor with mechanical stirring in an isothermal mode, where the polymerization process is carried out at the boundary of the occurrence of volumetric aeration of the solvent with ethylene, at the same time, by mixing and dispersing with ethylene, the solvent is formed in the form of a wall aerated layer with an internal gas funnel reaching the bottom of the reactor; dispersing is performed by milling and paddle agitators arranged coaxially in the lower zone of the solvent, at the speed of the outer surface of the milling disk 4–10 m/s, the disk’s diameter is 0.8–0.9 of the reactor, the shaft of the mixing device protects against cortex by a fluoroplastic shell, impellers of the mixers are made of fluoroplastic.
EFFECT: technical result is that the method provides scaling process.
