FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neurology, therapy, orthopedics, and can be used to predict development of contracture of upper extremity in ischemic stroke. Method is carried out according to the presented formula using the values of the main features: presence of the fact of medical rehabilitation, value of paresis of distal part of right and left hands, degree of limitation of ability to self-service according to Barthel index, level of situational anxiety and level of depression. Using the derived value, the patients are divided into two classes: with a positive and a negative outcome of developing contracture of the upper extremity.
EFFECT: method is simple, has no contraindications and is effective in prediction of secondary complications in ischemic stroke.
