FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of neutralizing hydrogen sulphide and light mercaptans by adding a neutraliser to hydrocarbon feedstock. Method is characterized by that the neutralizer used is two separate components: component 1, which is an organic base, which contains an electrophilic carbon atom, and component 2, which is an additive for creating a basic medium, which are added to the hydrocarbon feedstock at one or more points of input separately, and/or sequentially, and/or simultaneously, wherein the organic base used is a material or a mixture of materials from a series consisting of nitriles; and as an additive for creating the basic medium, a material or a mixture of materials from the following row is used: hydroxides, carbonates, silicates, phosphates, amines, triazines, amidines, alcoholates, organic salts of alkali metals, wherein the addition of component 1 to the hydrocarbon material is carried out in an amount, sufficient to provide a weight ratio of component 1 to the sum of hydrogen sulphide and mercaptans from 0.2:1 to 10:1, and component 2 is added to the hydrocarbon feedstock in an amount sufficient to ensure the weight ratio of component 2 to the sum of hydrogen sulphide and mercaptans from 0.2:1 to 10:1.
EFFECT: wider range of methods for removing hydrogen sulphide and light mercaptans from a hydrocarbon medium without using formaldehyde.
