SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol delivery device and a method for controlling the operation of an aerosol delivery device. The aerosol delivery device contains a communication interface made with the possibility of wireless communication with an external device, and a control component connected to the communication interface. The control component is designed to control the operation of at least one functional element of the aerosol delivery device in response to the detection of the passage of air flow through at least part of the aerosol delivery device. The control component is made with the ability to communicate with an external device, made with the ability to represent a variety of menu items selected on an external device, with each item the set of menu items is associated with the corresponding functional element of the aerosol delivery device. The control component is designed with the ability to control the corresponding functional element in response to navigating through the specified set of menu items and selecting the currently presented item from the set of menu items on an external device. The technical result of the invention is the creation of a user interface that provides comprehensive options for controlling the functions of the aerosol delivery device and, in addition, simplifies the user's interaction with the aerosol delivery device.
