FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to aerosol delivery devices, such as smoking articles, which can use heat generated by electric power to generate aerosol. Control casing 102 is made with possibility of connection with cartridge 104 equipped with heating element 222 and contains composition of aerosol precursor. Control housing 102 comprises control component 208 to control heating element 222 for activation and evaporation of components of aerosol precursor composition. Input device 248, having a capacitive sensor, is configured to detect user input. Input device 248 or control component 208 control operation of at least one functional element of control housing 102, cartridge 104 or aerosol delivery device 100 when user input is detected. Capacitive sensor comprises a shield electrode configured to at least partially attenuate the effect of liquid on the capacitive sensor, and a security sensor, made with possibility to detect excess of threshold level of liquid on capacitance sensor.
EFFECT: disclosed is an input device with a capacitive sensor for an aerosol delivery device.
