FIELD: metal cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: cutter includes composite shank containing fixing hard-alloy part and mounting part from hardened steel, made with mating surfaces connected in joint by soldering, and replaceable milling head connected to mounting part using threaded connection. Milling head is made of hard alloy and comprises front part, which is cutting part, and rear section forming mounting part. Mounting part comprises male centring cone and male external thread and protrudes backwards from end base surface of head. Mating surfaces of the shank are made in the form of three and more alternating projections and corresponding cavities, the ribs of which are located radially relative to the cutter axis and are located in pairs in longitudinal sections of the cutter passing through its axis of rotation. Ratio of contact area of attachment and mounting parts of the shank to its cross section is selected from range of 1.03-1.5.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and durability of the cutter.
