FIELD: processing of materials.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the processing of materials by cutting and can be used in the processing of products from hard-to-cut materials with prefabricated cutters. The cutting insert comprises an upper working surface, a lower supporting surface and a side surface located between them with rear and end surfaces. The rear surfaces are located from the side of the end surface at acute angles to the axis of the through hole. At the intersection of the upper and rear surfaces, the main cutting edges and their corresponding corner cutting edges are formed. The lower support surface contains the first and second surfaces, mated to each other by the mating surface, located one relative to the other in a V-shape and each at an acute internal angle to the plane perpendicular to the axis of the hole, and having an uneven width along the main cutting edges corresponding to them in mutually opposite directions. The design features of the execution of the cutting insert and cutter, in the sockets of which the said cutting inserts are fixed, are disclosed.
