FIELD: mountaineering equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to mountaineering, including industrial, namely to equipment for belaying, descent, ascent and positioning on ropes of user (climber) in rope access system. Self-locking descent device comprises a body, a ropes locking system and a rope guiding system, wherein a bearing element is installed on the working surface of the body vertically along the axis of symmetry, on both sides of which two mirror-symmetrical working zones are formed for two respectively independent ropes; wherein on both sides of the bearing element on the body there are control levers related to the rope locking system; each control lever comprises a cam and is pivotally mounted on the body with the possibility of pressing the rope by the cam surface to the bearing element when the lever is released and the cam is released from the bearing element to release the rope when the lever is pressed. System for guiding ropes as elements for locking and guiding ropes includes upper pins provided with latches, lower pins, upper small separating pins, as well as rotary plates arranged symmetrically relative to bearing element and hingedly fixed on bearing element, with possibility of their closure by latches in upper pins. On the shank of the body there is a swivel mechanism for a connecting carabiner with a user system.
EFFECT: increasing the strength and reliability of the self-locking descent device by reducing the total number of parts while simultaneously simplifying control.
