FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering, particularly to recovery of emission capacity of cathodes based on barium-calcium aluminate for electrovacuum devices. Method involves impregnation of a cathode made in the form of a metal sponge with an emission material containing barium, and thermal treatment of the cathode. Cathode is re-impregnated in hydrogen atmosphere with emission material in form of barium hydroxide Ba(OH)2 at temperature 600 °C for 10 minutes, and the thermal treatment of the cathode is carried out in the temperature-time mode of formation of barium-calcium aluminate in the pores of the metal sponge of the cathode at temperature of 1,600 °C for 4 minutes.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to restore emission properties of metal-porous cathode and to eliminate inter-electrode breakdowns and sparks, which makes it possible to reuse restored metal-porous cathodes for X-ray tubes of electrovacuum devices.
