FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to magnetic measurements. To quickly determine the length [L] of the actuating zone of the multilayer elongated solenoid with length L and diameter D, field intensity is measured at the centre of the solenoid. Then, field intensity in multilayer solenoid is determined. Required relative length L/D of the solenoid with diameter D is set from the condition of limitation in its centre of field intensity reduction in comparison with its potential value not more than the accepted allowable value ε1. Relative length of the actuating zone [L]/D is set from the condition of limiting the field intensity decrease at a distance from the centre of the solenoid in comparison with its potential value not exceeding the accepted allowable value ε2.

EFFECT: rapid determination of the length of the actuating zone of the multilayer elongated solenoid.
