SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a catalyst for combined production of phenol and acetone using a cumene method. Method involves reaction of stoichiometric amounts of molybdenum anhydride and phosphoric acid in an aqueous solution with continuous stirring. Molybdenum anhydride is preliminarily subjected to mechanochemical activation in a centrifugal-planetary mill to obtain crystalline hydrates of unsaturated phosphomolybdenum heteropolyacid of the composition H3PO4·yMoO3·xH2O (y=2–8, x=10–20) or 15–50 wt.% of aqueous solution. Method is carried out at weight ratio H2O/MoO3=6.25/1 or 10/1.
EFFECT: lower temperature and pressure, faster catalyst preparation while maintaining catalyst activity in the target process.
