FIELD: construction materials.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a modified bitumen binder and a method for production thereof, which can be used as binding material in construction, repair and reconstruction of coatings and bases of roads, bridges, airfields and other construction facilities. Binder contains bitumen and polyphosphoric acid. Polyphosphoric acid is used with weight concentration of 105–115% in amount of 0.05–2.0 wt.%, and the bitumen used is commercial construction bitumen of “БНД” 50/70, “БНД” 60/90, “БНД” 90/130, “БНД” 100/130 or “БНД” 130/200 with a needle penetration depth at 25 °C in range from 50 to 200 *0.1 mm in amount of up to 100 wt.%. Method is realized by loading commercial construction bitumen into the apparatus. Polyphosphoric acid is then added at 150–190 °C to bitumen and the mixture is stirred at 170–190 °C for 120–300 minutes to complete the chemical modification process.
EFFECT: development of a composition and a method of producing a modified bitumen binder, which facilitate production of a binder with high shear stability and an extended operating temperature range in accordance with “ГОСТ Р 58400.1–2019” for use in construction, repair and reconstruction of coatings and bases of roads, bridges, airfields and other construction facilities.
