FIELD: glass.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of refractory glass for technical purposes and can be used in chemical industry, optics and electronics. Method of synthesis of yttrium aluminium glass includes mixing of components of charge, melting by plasma jet and production of material. Mixture of yttrium oxide and aluminium oxide is granulated to 3–5 mm size, then it is placed in a corundum crucible and the mixture is melted with a plasma jet at synthesis parameters: current 400 A and flow rate of plasma-forming gas 0.0018–0.0022 kg/s, after which granulated charge is placed into the crucible on the surface of the formed melt to its full volume and re-melting the charge, heating it with a plasma jet to 2,000 °C. After homogenisation, the melt is fed for production.
EFFECT: faster synthesis process and higher efficiency.
