SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to devices and methods for qualitative and/or quantitative detection of functional C1-INH (fC1-INH). Device for detection and/or quantitative analysis of functional C1-esterase inhibitor (fC1-INH) contains: (i) a conjugate liner comprising a first region and a second region, wherein the first region comprises a first agent, and the second region comprises a second agent, respectively, and (ii) a membrane connected to the conjugate liner. Wherein the membrane comprises a third region, wherein the third region comprises a third agent, wherein the first agent is a functional C1 inhibitor binding agent (fC1-INH), or a C1 inhibitor binding agent (C1-INH), and the second agent is fC1-INH-binding agent or C1-INH-binding agent. First agent and the second agent differ from each other. Third means is a gripping means capable of being connected to the docking means. One of fC1-INH-binding agent and C1-INH-binding agent is conjugated with detectable label, and one of fC1-INH-binding agent and C1-INH-binding agent is conjugated with docking agent. Detectable label and the docking means are conjugated with different binding agents. Conjugate pad additionally comprises a fourth zone for holding a biological sample and a fifth zone for holding a buffer, where the buffer flows through the device in the following order: a first zone, a second zone and a third zone.
