FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument engineering and is used in systems for determining location of mobile objects (MO). Essence of the disclosed electronic compass is that the device additionally includes at least four frames with measuring units, each of which includes a three-component magnetometer, a three-component accelerometer, a three-component angular velocity sensor, wherein axes of sensors in measurement units are arranged parallel to each other and, in initial position of measurement units, they are parallel to construction axes of MO. Frames are made with possibility of changing angular position to provide displacement of measuring basis of magnetometers in range of inclination angles of Earth magnetic field vector from 90 degrees to minus 90 degrees and increase of their sensitivity. Measuring units are arranged so that the range of heading measurement is divided into equal sectors; besides, numbering of measuring units depends on initial angle of magnetic course and angle of inclination of magnetic field vector of the Earth.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the course of the MO.
