FIELD: hydraulic structures.
SUBSTANCE: tidal power plant with an extended operating cycle comprises dam 1 forming reservoir 3 separated from sea water area 2, a power plant building, standard working gates placed in dam 1, reversible turbines with electric generators, additional hydraulic turbine 4 with electric generator, located in main line 5 passing through dam 1, accumulation tank 6. Tank 6 is located in water area 2, connected to it at low tide level by check valve 7 and is equipped inside in its lower part with rotary gate 8, shutting off the inlet of pipe 9, connecting tank 6 with main line 5 inside dam 1. Gate 8 is connected to the end of cable 10, which by the other end is connected through blocks 11 installed in the upper part of reservoir 6 and dam 1, to float 12. Float 12 and gate 8 are equipped with weights 13 and 14, respectively. Weight 13 is larger.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the tidal power plant by generating electric power during the period between tides.
