FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, gastroenterology, phthisiology. It can be used for prediction of survival rate in first 21 days of hospitalization of patients with gastrointestinal haemorrhages accompanying HIV-infection and HIV/TB co-infection. Method involves determining risk factors: CD⁴⁺T-lymphocyte count, sex, absence or presence of surgical treatment, Kaposi’s sarcoma and cytomegalovirus intestinal ulcer, severity of bleeding. Each parameter is assigned a value in points and calculation of prediction is carried out according to the presented formula. If the value is more than 8.5 points, a lethal outcome is predicted on first 21 days of hospitalization.
EFFECT: method is simple, enables to select the optimal treatment regimen depending on the patient's status.
