FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to infectious diseases, and can be used for determining severity of herpetic infection in HIV-infected patients. Signs characterizing asthenic syndrome are determined: fast fatigue, reduced capacity, sleep disturbance. Signs characterizing common-toxicity syndrome are determined: fever, headache, reduction of appetite. Group of symptoms is determined: surface lymph nodes lymphadenitis, weight loss, anemia. Criteria is assessed in points according to table 1 of description. Obtained data is summed up. Severity of herpetic infection is assessed by integral index of clinical symptoms (IICS). If IICS is less than 35 %, mild degree of severity of disease is determined. At IICS ranges from 35 to 48 %, moderate degree of severity of disease is determined. At IICS more 48 % severe disease is determined.

EFFECT: method enables simple and objective determination of severity of herpetic infection in HIV-infected patients by integrated assessment of most optimal clinical data.
