FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to X-ray diagnostics and can be used to isolate a contrast-induced X-ray density component in a vessel lumen on a CT-angiographic image. CT-angiography (CT-A) is performed and an image of the arterial phase of the vessel scanning in the axial plane is obtained. Image is marked and a binary mask of vessel lumen segmentation is obtained. Binary mask of segmentation is processed by Gaussian blur. Region of interest is obtained from the initial data as a result of the logical intersection of the CT image, the initial and processed masks. X-ray density signal in the region of interest is approximated separately for rows and columns using an approximating function. Obtained X-ray density signal corresponds to the spatial distribution of the contrast agent in the vessel lumen.

EFFECT: method provides separation of spatial distribution of contrast agent in vessel lumen on CT-A images.
