SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nutritional compositions containing human milk oligosaccharides (HMO) metabolites for improving the gastrointestinal barrier in an infant under age of 12 months, a young child from 1 to 3 years old or child from 3 to 8 years old. Nutritional composition contains HMO metabolites, a carbohydrate source, a protein source and a lipid source. Method for preparing the nutritional composition involves a step of mixing the composition containing HMO metabolites with a nutritional composition containing a carbohydrate source, a protein source and a lipid source to obtain a nutritional composition containing HMO metabolites. HMO metabolites are obtained by fermentation of a composition containing one or more HMO selected from a group consisting of: 2’FL, 2’FL and LNnT, 2’FL, DiFL, 3’SL, 6’SL, LNT and LNnT, in a composition containing a baby microbiota. Infant microbiota contains at least 60% of actinobacteria and more preferably bifidobacteria in terms of the total number of bacteria in the microbiota.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve the gastrointestinal barrier in infants under 12 months, or a young child from 1 to 3 years old, or child from 3 to 8 years old, having a disturbed microbiota.
