SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nutritional composition for infants or a young child. Nutritional composition contains only 2'-fucosyllactose (2FL) as fucosylated oligosaccharide and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) only as N-acetylated oligosaccharide and is used in preventing and/or treating inflammations in the gastrointestinal tract in an infant or young child. Inflammations in the gastrointestinal tract represent enteritis, gastroenteritis, enterocolitis, oesophagitis or any combination thereof. Infant is a child under age of 12 months, and the young child is a child aged one to three years. Fucosylated oligosaccharide is present in total amount of 0.8–1.5 g/l of composition or in total amount of 0.55–1.05 g/100 g of composition in terms of weight of dry substance; and N-acetylated oligosaccharide is present in total amount of 0.5–0.8 g/l of composition or in total amount of 0.35–0.56 g/100 g of composition in terms of weight of dry substance.

EFFECT: disclosed is a composition for use in preventing or treating infections/inflammations in the gastrointestinal tract in infants or young children.
