SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of a nutritional composition containing 2'-fucosyllactose (2'-FL) for increasing the production of kynurenic acid by the microbiota of an infant, young child or child through consumption of the nutritional composition. Nutritional composition promotes the beneficial effect on health. Beneficial effect for health is reduction of nociception, prevention and/or treatment of obesity or obesity-related metabolic disorders, depression, inflammatory conditions.
EFFECT: disclosed is a composition for use in reducing nociception and stimulating other health effects in infants and young children.
