SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical compounds of general formula (I), where COR is a secondary or tertiary amide, so that -R is selected from: -M; -NH-(CH2)n-M and -NH-(CH2)n-C(CH3)(CH3)-M, where -M is selected from (a), (b), (c), in which R1 is selected from an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, >CH2, >CH-O-(CH2)n-CH3, >CH-(CH2)n-O-(CH2)n-CH3, >CH-(CH2)n-OH, >CH-COOH or >C(OH)phenyl; R3 is selected from a hydrogen atom, C1-C6-alkyl or C1-C6-O-alkyl group; R4 is selected from a hydrogen atom, C1-C6-alkyl or C1-C6-O-alkyl group; n is equal to integer from 0 to 3; -NH-(CH2)n-W, where W is a group -OH, a group -O-(CH2)n-CH3 or a group selected from ii), iv), v), in which R1 is selected from >CH-(CH2)n-OH; R3 represents hydrogen atom; R4 is a hydrogen atom; R5 is -OH; n is equal to integer from 0 to 2. Invention also relates to a composition based on a compound of formula (I) for protecting retinal pigment epithelium cells.
EFFECT: obtaining compounds used to protect retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells.
