FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in luminescent, catalytic and anode technologies. Method of producing monolithic airgel of amorphous germanium dioxide is based on a sol-gel method using supercritical drying technology. Precursor used is germanium tetrachloride, which is dissolved in butyl acetate to concentration of 0.15-0.36 mol/l. Propylene oxide is added to the obtained solution. Then the solution is cooled to minus 18 °C, and solution of concentrated 36.5 wt.% hydrochloric acid is added with and under ultrasonic action until complete homogenisation of the sol. Molar ratios of GeCl4 : butyl acetate : HCl : propylene oxide in the obtained ash are 1:20:4:10 or 1:50:5:10. Obtained monolithic lyogel is held at room temperature for a day and then dried under supercritical drying conditions in CO2.
EFFECT: use of germanium tetra-alkoxides which are unstable during storage is excluded.
