FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in radiographic quality control of industrial control objects, including welded joints. Method of measuring the height of a volumetric defect of a control object on a digital radiographic image consists in comparing radiographic images of a calibration sample and real defects on the control object, wherein a calibration sample with holes of different depths and diameters, made in the form of a plate from the same material as the controlled object, is installed on the control object, performing the calibration sample and the control object radiography and measuring the grey scale values outside and inside each of the holes in the calibration sample on the obtained digital radiographic images, as well as grey scale values inside and outside the defect on the inspected object, and calculating the height of the volumetric defect as an interpolation function of the measured grey scale values using software.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities, high accuracy of measuring the height of a volumetric defect, as well as reduced labour input.
