FIELD: molecular biology.

SUBSTANCE: described is a method for diagnosing non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis based on determining microRNA in blood plasma, which involves calculating a body weight index, determining an expression level of hsa-miR-423-5p by real-time PCR and fasting glucose concentration by a photometric method. To determine the value of non-alcoholic steatosis, the obtained data are substituted into the formula for calculating the value of non-alcoholic steatosis and if the value is equal to or more than 27.58 standard units—presence of non-alcoholic steatosis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: minimally invasiveness and specification, or possibility of diagnostics of non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis.
