SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for in vitro identification of a patient with colorectal cancer or its precancerous stage, comprising determining the methylation status of the LINC00473 gene in a liquid biopsy material obtained from a patient, where the LINC00473 gene methylation level is higher than the LINC00473 gene methylation reference level measured in healthy control subjects, is an indicator that the subject suffers from colorectal cancer or a precancerous stage or has a poor prognosis. Disclosed is the in vitro use of the methylated LINC00473 gene for the diagnosis and/or prediction of colorectal cancer or its precancerous stage based on the methylation status of the LINC00473 gene.

EFFECT: method according to the invention provides high sensitivity and specificity, which means that it is a powerful and effective method of detecting both colorectal cancer and colorectal adenomas.
