SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for quantitative assessment of vascular retinal nonperfusion zones. Protocol for scanning a posterior pole of an eye in a superficial or deep retinal plexus by optical coherence tomography-angiography in HD mode, Angio Retina 6.0 mm with quality of 9/10 is saved in a separate graphic file. Image of OCT angiogram with size of 600×600 pixels and its contrasting is performed using the "Threshold" command with a cut-off parameter of 40 units. Using the "Histogram" function, the automatically calculated percentage of black pixels is determined, which is interpreted as an indicator of the proportion of areas of nonperfusion of the retina in the superficial or deep plexus, respectively.
EFFECT: method enables effective diagnosis of the disease, detection of its progression and determination of the patient management approach by objective and non-invasive quantitative assessment of areas of nonperfusion of retina in superficial or deep plexus of retina in patients with retinal pathology.
