FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and specifically to a method of producing monoester of 2-butenediol-1,4 containing 1,3-dioxolane fragment, which can be used as a component of oxygenating fuel additives. Method involves reaction of 2-butene-1,4-diol and 2-methylene-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid. Process is carried out at temperature of 0 °C for 0.2 h in molar ratios of components: 2-butene-1,4-diol : 2-methylene-1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decane : trifluoroacetic acid = 333:67:1.3.
EFFECT: obtaining the end product with high output and shorter reaction time.
