METHOD OF TREATING TRUE BRACHIAL ARTERY ANEURYSM IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61F2/06

Abstract RU 2831899 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatric surgery. An aneurysm of the brachial artery is removed with its subsequent prosthetics. After removal of the aneurysm of the artery, the length of the missing fragment of the artery is measured, and a reversed greater saphenous vein taken in advance with a length margin is used. Proximal and distal anastomoses are then applied with interrupted sutures using a microsurgical technique, and after starting the blood flow and straightening the autovein, and around it a synthetic prosthesis of blood vessels is fixed made of polytetrafluoroethylene with diameter of 6 mm, wall thickness of 0.4 mm, and cut along a dotted line on the outer wall, applied during the manufacturing process, with a blanket suture with prolene No. 7.0 with a pricked needle with the ends of the prosthesis coming in on the healthy portions of the artery behind the anastomosis line by 3 mm.

EFFECT: method enables to treat a true brachial artery aneurysm by using a combination of an autogenous material placed in a synthetic frame, which allows the reversed autovein to grow inside the external frame and gradually fill it in the process of a child’s life to the size of an adult’s artery and does not require lifelong administration of antithrombotic preparations.
