FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to protect documents, for example, banknotes, from counterfeit. To make a security element, a first and a second region are created on the surface of a substantially flat substrate and provided with a micro-mirror structure or an imprint with magnetically oriented pigments. If the first area is provided with a micromirror structure, then the second area is provided with an imprint with magnetically oriented pigments and vice versa. First area is formed so that it reproduces the first scene and creates in it the visible first effect of colour movement in first range (16) of the substrate inclination angles. Second area is formed so that it reproduces the second plot and creates in it the visible second effect of colour movement in second range (18) of the substrate inclination angles. First and second ranges (16, 18) of inclination angles are different, wherein first range (16) can overlap second range (18) by not more than 10%. First effect may include a first colour shift, wherein the first and second colour motion effects are not necessarily the same. Protective element can also have a sequence of at least three regions, including said first and second regions, and each of the third and any subsequent areas is made as the first or second area. Examples of using plots: drop falling into water with subsequent dispersion of ripple waves on its surface, launching of a rocket with subsequent burst of fireworks, growth of a tree, falling of an apple, flight of a bird, rising or setting of the sun or moon, flame flicker.
EFFECT: as a result of creating such a pronounced visual effect, the level of counterfeit protection is increased.
