FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmosurgery and aims at preventing endothelial degeneration accompanying cataract phacoemulsification. For this purpose, the patient is examined for the degree of maturity of cataract, the number of endothelial cells of the cornea, density of ECD. Depending on the obtained data, preoperative selection of viscoelastic of different degree of adhesiveness and cohesion is performed in accordance with Table 1.
EFFECT: invention provides more effective prevention of endothelial degeneration in cataract phacoemulsification due to rational selection and use of adhesive and cohesive properties of various viscoelastics when performing manipulations during cataract phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.
