FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Ametropia is corrected in the patients with stage II-III stabilized keratoconus after implantation of intrastromal corneal segments, UV crosslinking is performed, transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy (trans-PRK) is performed. Trans-PRK is performed with an optical zone diameter of 5.5-6 mm, including a projection of the segment zone at depth of 60 mcm. Further, residual epithelium is removed with a scarificator in a projection of the segment, followed by instillation of an antiseptic and application of a bandage contact lens.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical and functional results, does not lead to protrusion and change in the position of the segment in the tunnel, as well as provides higher quality of life of the patient.
