FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of high-molecular compounds, specifically to aromatic polycarbonate, a method for production thereof and a container based thereon. Disclosed is an aromatic polycarbonate, for which indicators of change in elongational viscosity, measured at an elongation rate of 0.005 s-1 for a sample with length of 127 mm, width of 12.7 mm and thickness of 0.8 mm at temperature of 280 °C, satisfy conditions (i) and (ii), and the MFR value at 300 °C under load of 1.2 kg is 1.5-4.5 (g/10 min). Condition (i) consists in the fact that the indicator of change in elongational viscosity of following formula (1): (log10(Elongational viscosity [Pa∙s] at 0.80 s) - log10(Elongational viscosity [Pa∙s] at 0.30 s)) / (log100.80 - log100.30) on interval A (interval from 0.30 to 0.80 s after the beginning of elongation) is 0.10-0.30. Condition (ii) consists in the fact that an indicator of change in elongational viscosity of following formula (2): (log10(Elongational viscosity [Pa∙s] at 8.0 s) - log10(Elongational viscosity [Pa∙s] at 3.0 s)) / (log108.0 - log103.0) Formula (2) in the interval B (interval from 3.0 to 8.0 s after the beginning of elongation) is 0.70-1.1.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain aromatic polycarbonate with excellent mouldability.
